Not learning from Red teaming[edit]

The reaction to Yarnell's exercise speaks volumes. Apparently Kimmel and Short weren't scapegoats. It appears they were unwilling to accept the threat demonstrated by Yarnell. Much more needs to be understood about the war games of Yarnell and Mitchell. Red teaming is an extremely important tool, but in the case of Yarnell and Mitchell, it seems that the opponents learn much more from it than the ones the exercise was designed to convince. -Mak

Court-martial?[edit]

The USS Connecticut article mentions that the OOW at the time of its grounding was court-martialed with its captain, and gives his name as Lt. E. H. Yarnell. Is that this Yarnell? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.237.140.249 (talk) 13:46, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
