According to many websites out there the designation He 113 refers to the aircraft later designated He 100 due to Heinkel's superstition about the use of the number 13

Is there enough in the Heinkel He 113 article to stand on its own? It may make more sense to include it into the Heinkel He 100 article. FWiW Bzuk (talk) 22:40, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, He 113 was the original designation for the Heinkel He 100. Its designer requested a new RLM designation because the He 100 was intended to break the absolute speed record.

Merge. (Boy, this is a slow-motion discussion!) The "He 113" designation was a propaganda stunt/cover for the He 100, there's no reason it shouldn't redirect to Heinkel He 100#He 113 propaganda or something like that. - The Bushranger _{One ping only} 21:25, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose Whether it's real or not, it's certainly notable as the 113. One thing we do know about the propaganda creation is that it wasn't the He 100, even though it was "played" by a He 100 for photographs.
