Huntington High School

[edit]

I saw the source, but I believe it is wrong. My kids went to NCH HS with Bill Walker and my search for any original sources, including local West Virginia media, did not locate any that indicate he went to Huntington. He is from Huntington, but he left to go to Rose Hill Christian Academy in Ashland, Kentucky and then transferred to NCH, where he graduated. Walker's own web site only lists NCH HS.

Well, Ireally don't know. NBA.com is an official source, and they list Huntington HS as his high school before he transferred. ● 8~Hype @ 08:01, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
NBA.com would seem to be a fine source, however, it is possible for any source to be in error and it is difficult to prove that something didn't happen. I am saying the NBA.com reference is a secondary source that is in doubt, so I think that a corroborating source would be appropriate in this case. Rdikeman (talk) 11:19, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, if you find another source suggesting that he didn't attend the school, or that states he attended another school before transferring, you can change it. I would keep it as it is right now, just for the sake of the quote. ● 8~Hype @ 13:19, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
From USA Today, July 10, 2006:
"Bill Walker, one of the nation's top high school basketball players, will not be allowed to play this year because he has used up all of his eligibility, state athletic officials said on Monday."
"Walker, a 6-foot-6 forward who combined with O.J. Mayo to lead North College Hill to consecutive state championships, has completed his eight semesters of eligibility, the Ohio High School Athletic Association said."
"Walker played a year as a ninth-grader at Rose Hill Christian in Ashland, Ky., before enrolling at North College Hill as an eighth-grader in February 2003, the association said."

OK, thank you for the source. I've fixed it now. ● 8~Hype @ 18:11, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well done. Thanks. Rdikeman (talk) 11:52, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Revision

[edit]

My revision should not have been flatly reverted, as it was not vandalism. All of my changes were productive. Before we go further with the article, please discuss why my changes were not useful.--Thomas.macmillan (talk) 19:04, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
