Conflicting Information
[edit]The * marked in the article is where I found conflicting information.. ESPN listed the records as 21-11 (8-7), so I put that in the article as that was probably the more creditable of what I was able to find. Two sources had it listed as its original (23-11, 9-7), but both were not as creditable, one was a free web page, and the other was on gopack.com, but many sections of the area I found it in were incomplete, and were occuasionally incorrect or misleading. If anyone is positive that the record is the previous 23-11, 9-7, feel free to change it back. --ncsu1 02:52, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
Well, ESPN has at least one of the records wrong since the ACC played a 16 game schedule in 2001-2002, so 8-7 isn't possible. Think I will fire off an e-mail to the Athletics department to clarify. -c 3/26/2006
Athletics dept. says 9-7 (tied 3rd) ACC, 23-11 full seasons. -c
Thank you --ncsu1 02:21, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Controversial material
[edit]The following text was removed due to controversial material that is unsourced per the policy on biographies of living persons
Despite trips to the postseason in nine of ten years, Sendek was often criticized by NC State fans. The two biggest complaints were his poor overall record against more established in-state rivals, and a lack of charisma (in stark contrast to previous head coach and fan-favorite Jim Valvano). His supporters countered that he ran a clean program, had only one losing season, and led the team to five consecutive NCAA tournaments. Whether it was fair or not, the growing criticism was widely considered to have been a factor in Sendek's departure from NC State in 2006.
