Whales[edit]

Off the coast of the Wake Island map there are 3 white whales. I just thought it was interesting. Russian F 19:13, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Moved clans section here[edit]

I really don't think this section deserves a place in the article, I'm moving it here because I don't want to simply delete it entirely. Mr toasty 05:19, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clans Over time, the game has received fewer and fewer players online. However, the remaining players of the game have formed clans, or small gaming groups, that often have bouts between themselves and other players. The Playstation 2 version of the game, however, has no current groups that fight each other due to the main ones leaving either to the PS3 or PC.

PC Clans[edit]

  • The Tempest Union, one of the first clans to ever appear on the game.
  • The Osean Air Defense Force, one of the newer clans, with at least one of the PS2 TTU members.

Disbanded PS2 Clans[edit]

  • The Free Erusean Air Force, the first clan on the system, and the one most noted for being sore-losers, helping steroetype them as young teen males that sought to vent their aggression through the game.
  • The Tempest Union, the second clan on PS2 that helped rid the game of the FEAF.
  • The Osean Air Defense Force, who moved on to the PC after defeating the FEAF as well.
  • JAAF, one of the last and least formidable of all of the clans.

Other Playstation 2 clans did exist, but they had no effect upon the game's politics apart from giving the FEAF an ego boost, which would lead them into thinking that "they were the best."

If it shouldn't be in the article, it shouldn't be in the article's talk page either. --Scottie theNerd 13:59, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

I've removed the extensive lists in the article. Please see WP:NOT and WP:TRIVIA. Anything that is important (with proper sources backing up claimed importance) can be incorporated into the article. As the game was not designed with be fully historically accurate or realistic, there is no need to point out every single discrepancy between Heroes of the Pacific and World War II. This merely creates an excessively long and barely relevant list of information that doesn't directly pertain to the game.

Regarding other list removals:

  • A full list of plains is game trivia and is not notable enough to be listed out in full. A brief mention is sufficient.
  • Mission list conveys no information that is useful for non-players. The overview list of campaigns already communicates the setting. --Scottie theNerd 13:59, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Heroes of the pacific.jpg[edit]

Image:Heroes of the pacific.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:52, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tanks[edit]

If you look carefully in the Wake Island map, you will see several Sherman tanks, anti-ancraft guns and a few jeeps. When I play the game, I always blow the tanks up first.
