Hi, 178.167.196.73, and welcome to Wikipedia. We have a set of policies here to keep things running smoothly. One of these is WP:BRD - "bold, revert, discuss". You boldly added text; it got reverted; now we discuss and get consensus for inclusion of the disputed content. Rather than just re-inserting it and edit-warring. To be included, what you enter must be WP:DUE, and must be verifiable. There is already a lot on the greyhound funding issue. Is it warranted to also include additional commentary on the breed of dog Cairns used for publicity photos (presumably because she didn't have a greyhound to hand but had access to a lurcher)? Personally, I don't think so, which is one of the reasons I removed it. And, of course, lurchers are used in hare coursing. The addition was sourced to the Irish Daily Mail. Sorry, that is a deprecated source (see entry) and can't be used on Wikipedia. I've looked for alternate reliable sources and can only find one mention in a UK-based greyhound website, so hardly neutral. The other problem with your inclusion is it's factually incorrect. You stated in Wikipedia's voice that "Cairns was criticised by many fellow T.D.'s and greyhound owners" but according to the source you used, it was two TDs and no greyhound owners. So, yeah - pretty irrelevant. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ!19:22, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
