Humehume's rebellion

[edit]

Someone should write an article on this event similiar to the French Incident (Hawaii) or French Invasion of Honolulu.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 06:26, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

War of 1812

[edit]

This source seems to say that he didn't enlist until 1815 and that he only fought in the second Barbary Wars not the War of 1812.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 08:45, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The cited Douglas Warne source is later, from 2002, and explained the issue (at least made sense to me). Humehume seemed to have enlisted twice, once in the Marines and then the Navy. The Wasp was lost at sea, but Humehume presumably had been ashore due to his injury. You are probably talking about the second time. This might be better explained in the article.
