Recreated Album
[edit]The page has been recreated now that quite a lot of information has become available about its production and several sources have not only confirmed its title as Undefeated but also confirmed its first single "I Didnt Know My Own Strength" and other recorded songs as well as producers.(Lil-unique1 (talk) 22:20, 17 May 2009 (UTC))
- Still not enough information to make a good article. I've redirected it for now. Hopefully, in a few weeks, enough more information (like a confirmed release date and a tracklist) will become available that the redirect can be undone.—Kww(talk) 22:23, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
It's her 6th not 7th studio album. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.168.144.230 (talk) 17:27, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
Categories
[edit]Someone added "Articles with unsourced statements from august 2009" at the categories section , but I can't find it anywhere so that i can delete it....?!! (MariAna Mimi 21:22, 7 August 2009 (UTC))
Official Singles
[edit]I Look To You is the official lead/first single. Million Dollar Bill is the second single. Billboard stated this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090810/review_nm/us_music_singles_1
This is the e-mail from Arista Records:
WHITNEYHOUSTON.COM: COUNTDOWN | NEWS | MUSIC | VIDEO LATEST NEWS FROM WHITNEY HOUSTON
Listen to Whitney's new song, "Million Dollar Bill" at WhitneyHouston.com! Hurry over to WhitneyHouston.com to hear Whitney's second single off the most anticipated new album this year, I Look To You. The amazing new track, entitled "Million Dollar Bill," was written by Alicia Keys.
Following the release of Whitney's soul-touching ballad, "I Look To You," the upbeat "Million Dollar Bill" exemplifies the talent and diversity that has made Whitney and international icon and is sure to cement I Look To You an instant classic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrew Scar (talk • contribs) 15:13, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Track listing format
[edit]I believe that this format for the track listing : Template:Tracklist would be better suited for the article and would not take as much space as the current one. (MariAna Mimi 20:49, 31 August 2009 (UTC))
Assessment
[edit]I´m going to rate this article a stub, for the lack of personnel section, please as soon as it´s added request an assessment so it can be rated a B. Zidane tribal (talk) 02:41, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Accurate Stats
[edit]I am having the most difficulty trying to attain sales stats for I Look To You. It seems the chart you have keeps changing and that would be good if the changes where consistently going upward. What happened to the counts for Italy, Poland, Austria, Netherlands? What are the counts for Japan, Taiwan, South Africa, or The Middle East. I get the feeling that she is much closer to 800,000 sales by now but I cannot confirm that anywhere. A few days ago, there where numbers posted by each of the countries representing Gold Status...in fact The U.S. showed Gold status and now it seems to have been retracted. What's the real deal and how can I go about finding the stats myself?

Third Single
[edit]When I look at the song "Like I Never Left" on YouTube. Many are saying "The video will be good" "Next single!!!" "Can't wait to see the video" Is it confirmed that this is indeed the third single or is it just idle gossip? Jayy008 (talk) 23:25, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
Charts and sales
[edit]I live in Turkey and i know that Whitney's album reached no 1 in the charts there, can somebody add that to the charts info pls. You can use whitney-info.com as link.
Can somebody also add this information to the Million dollar bill page: Polish sinles chart #1, European Hot 100 #15 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Erestun (talk • contribs) 21:57, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
WHAT IS WITH THESE STATS
[edit]Why do the sales stats keeping changing...decreasing and increasing but not showing much progress...where does the information actually come from...yesterday there was a reported 200,000 copies for the U.K. and today that has been reduced to 100k...Italy's numbers keep bouncing around also for yesterday Whitney was platinum in Italy...Korea hasn't moved...Germany has disappeared...WTF...can we please get and keep accurate data...or better yet cite an actual traceable source so we can confirm or deny the numbers on our own...Why isn't Japan, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Brazil, Taiwan, Morocco, or Jamaica listed...Whitney is well loved in these countries as well and I am certain she has surpassed what is being reported by hundreds of thousands by now...What is the deal...If I go to RIAA I can't seem to get straight global numbers...can I just call Arista? I mean honestly...please provide accurate info and cite sources that can be verified...I know Whitney Houston's numbers are much better than even the fantastic numbers you keep fluctuating...The numbers are necessary to RUB in the faces of ALL the haters that said she couldn't do it...you know like the haters that said Obama could do it...This year is ALL about YES I CAN and YES WHITNEY DID!!! So lets keep the fire burning and get more numbers and sources... —Preceding unsigned comment added by EvangMoore (talk • contribs) 05:02, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
Alot of the state you speak of have been exxagerated without a source so they have to removed which is why they keep changing as for Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa no websites are known which is reliable for their sales and everything on Wikipedia has to be verifyable. So far it hasn't yet been certified in Brazil or Japan. Jayy008 (talk) 16:50, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
I Didn't Know My Own Strength
[edit]Should a page be made for this song? There's alot of information about it. Lots of reviews. It's charted on two charts in the U.S. It's charted in the UK and Ireland. It was covered by an X Factor contestant. It has a cover and it was released as a download separately from the album as remixes. Jayy008 (talk) 15:35, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yes i think it is actually a case where a seperate page would be acceptable. there was previously a page under this title so if we revert the redirection a lot of original information should still be there and we could build on it from there? Lil-unique1 (talk) 20:57, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
Good idea, I'll do it now so look out for it and add to it if you have time. Jayy008 (talk) 21:26, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
- i will do. Lil-unique1 (talk) 21:27, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yes I think it is appropriate for it to have it's own page. the song has been performed live on numerous occasions, and has charted on quite a few charts.--Petergriffin9901 (talk) 23:04, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
- The song charted in the UK. Providing there is enough material(sounds like there is) to move it beyond stub level then it will meet WP:NSONG notabilty. SunCreator (talk) 03:19, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yes Jayy, your first line was pretty much convincing to me. But seeing the un-redirected page, yes for sure. You did say it has 'lots of reviews'. I know it's early, but I'm sure that you will expand that section as is called for in the template on the article page.—Iknow23 (talk) 01:09, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Several problems that I notice, need a hard work, so I put the article on hold on until June 28, 2010. (UTC) TbhotchTalk C. 18:30, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
Response
[edit]Thank you for this very informative review. I've gone through (and i think i've addressed the issues). Lil-unique1 (talk) 18:30, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
- I'll tick () what was done, I'll cross () what still wrong. TbhotchTalk C. 18:41, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
- Many things were done, several more were ignored also new changes generated some typos throughout. I extended the revision time until June 27. TbhotchTalk C. 19:29, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry i wasnt aware of the latter issues, just been through and copyeditted the article. Regards, Lil-unique1 (talk) 20:45, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Further comments
[edit]- Lead
- WP:ALT -> Personally, "Whitney Houston" written in the alternative caption text, is too specific, maybe "an afro-american woman" or "a woman with wavy hair" or something like that, of course I won't fail the article for this comment. TbhotchTalk C. 02:09, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- then August 31, 2009 -> typo
...based on an aggregate score of 70/100 from... I noticed that this is not on the "Critical Reception" section.- beating her previous career best first-week sale of 205,000 units with Just Whitney (2002). -> beating her previous career best first-week sale of 205,000 units with Just Whitney (2002) in the chart.
- Background
In February 2009, Houston made her official public comeback at Davis's "Pre-Grammy Gala", her first major live appearance since 2004 -> Source does not says thatRef 2 has a typo: (E!Online)- rousing -> WP:Peacock?
- Ref 1 and 6 need consistency.
- Music
R. Kelly contributed two songs -> Did you mean R. Kelly contributed writing two songs- In the song Houston -> In the song, Houston
- Reference 10 has a typo (Latest activity 2 days ago).
- Also released in UK and US -> Consistency needed
Houston hosted a listening party with Clive Davis in New York -> Davis was already mentioned.and Vivica A. Fox[12] as well as many representatives from the American press -> Source?- September 14 and 15 and featured -> September 14 and 15, and featured
On October 18, Houston performed "Million Dollar Bill" live on -> Since "Million Dollar Bill" was used in the last line, perhaps -> On October 18, Houston performed the same song live onIreland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany,[23] Switzerland,[24] Austria,[25] Belgium,[26] Italy[24] and Australia.[27] -> Germany,[23] Italy, Switzerland,[24] Austria,[25] Belgium,[26] and Australia.[27] and do not need Wikilinks and remove unsorced countries.
- Singles
"Million Dollar Bill" which was written and produced by Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz was -> "Million Dollar Bill", which was written and produced by Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, wasgiving Houston her 13th number-one dance single -> Source- was originally lined up to be the lead single, but was succeeded by the album's title song. -> I'm confused, didn't was "Million Dollar Bill" which was released as the first official lead single, morover, where is the source?
- Furthermore, following its performance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, the song charted at number 66 on the U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. -> source?
on the UK X Factor which resulted in the song charting at number 38 and 44 on Irish Singles Chart and UK Singles Chart respectively.[32] It also charted on the Japan Hot 100 at number 16.[33] -> why it is italicized?"Nothin' But Love" was set to be released as the album's third single to coincide with the tour but was only released to UK radio stations. --> [citation needed]
- Commercial Success
- week sales of 51,632 -> full stop missed
- Chart procession and succession
- the template {{Expand section|Danish, Polish and German Navigational boxes|date=February 2010}} must dissapear.

I've re-reviewed the article, those are new problems. TbhotchTalk C. 02:09, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- I have done half of these. Aim to do the rest tomorrow and day after. Regards, Lil-unique1 (talk) 15:49, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
I am failing the article, I'd gave it a final date (28 June), and it is today. If you feel this is in error, you may request a Good article reassessment or a re-nomination. TbhotchTalk C. 19:06, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
- Why is there a time limit on this process? If Lil-unique1 finishes this up 4 hours from now, why can't it be a GA? Does the "G" spoil if it's not put back in the refrigerator right away?
- And anyway, it's still the 28th as I write this, an hour after you rang the terminal buzzer, so the deadline you picked (from where?) hasn't even passed yet. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 21:07, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
- As I said before If you feel this is in error, you may request a Good article reassessment or a re-nomination. I'd been waiting 3 weeks and Lil is busy with another article. TbhotchTalk C. 22:08, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
- Sheesh! Sorry if i cant be on wikipedia as much as I'd like to. I didn't realise GA's were specifically time-restrained. It takes time to search for appropriate sources and to fix deadlinks. But nevermind... i'll work on it in my leisure and nominate when I feel that I've done all I can that way I don't have to feel pressured to work towards a deadline. Lil-unique1 (talk) 21:45, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
Certifications
[edit]When i was editing "I Am...Sasha Fierce" which has also been considered as a potential GA, i was told not to insert fansites, sony music or the official site of the singer as these sources often exagarrate. So, this should apply to this article too or it just will not be fair. Netherlands has not been certifying any album since 2006. There are no archives. And when will you guys have a look at "I Am...Sasha Fierce"? (Jivesh boodhun (talk) 16:07, 17 June 2010 (UTC))
to or To
[edit]If you look on the official Whitney Houston website, then the album is written as I Look To You - the To being with a capital T. So why have we got it written in lower case in this article? Regardless of what the correct grammar is, it's not for us to change how it's supposed to be written. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.189.246.131 (talk) 16:10, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- Wikipedia has its own Manual of Style for naming. See WP:ALBUMCAPS. As "to" is a preposition, the "t" should not be capitalized. Novice7 (talk) 07:29, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
