Citations needed
[edit]The requester should try link already given in the article, which has a sublink II b. He could also find the information in other French agencies and newspapers of 8 and 9 September 2006. Lima 04:34, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
Within the SSPX?
[edit]If they were expelled from the Society, how can they be considered still within the SSPX? 2nd Piston Honda 08:33, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
- 2nd Piston is obviously right. Lima 10:11, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
- Not as obvious as I thought: see footnote 8 in the article. Lima 05:23, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
GA nomination
[edit]This is an excellent start toward a good article. It is well written and makes good use of citations. However, I declined to promote the article mainly because of criterion 3a. It needs better coverage of the background, history, and purpose of the institute. I give below some questions that a typical reader may ask.
- At the start, the article assumes knowledge of Archbishop Lefebvre’s schismatic movement. Some background text would help here.
- Were the founding members Fathers Paul Aulagnier, Philippe Laguérie, and Christophe Héry? The article does not explicitly say so. Were there anybody else? If not named, how many persons?
- Some details surrounding the expulsion of Laguérie and Héry would be pertinent here. Were there any incidents and what were the reactions and statements of the SSPX?.
- One motivation stated was the “discouragement of priestly vocations”. What does this mean?
- An explanation is needed on the role of the Nanterre court and Bordeaux city council on matters that appear to be only ecclesiastical. Why are they involved?
- The purpose is said to be a “society of apostolic life”. What does that mean? What does the society do?
- Where is the society based? How large is it?
- What motivated the founders to return to Rome? And how could Aulagnier resolve the contradiction of being a part of SSPX at the same time? How does Rome accept Aulagnier being part of a schismatic movement?
Not as important is criterion 6. A relevant image is not required, but it would certainly help. In any case you are on the right track. Once the article has been expanded, please renominate for GA status. --RelHistBuff 12:32, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
