Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because this person is well known in Hungary as a painter. (your reason here) --PootisHeavy (talk) 19:44, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That may be true, but I wasn't able to find any significant coverage of the article's subject. If there are news articles or anything aside from personal postings that would indicate his significance, those need to be added ASAP. Besides, simply asserting he "is well known" is not enough to establish notability--the lead should also explain why he is well known. -- Brian heim composer (talk) 19:48, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm declining this because the article asserts that this artist has artwork that is held within several museums and he's had several exhibitions. While the article is unsourced, this is enough for him to pass speedy criteria and given that coverage for him would likely exist primarily or solely in Hungarian, I'd recommend AfD for this rather than any of the other outlet. This way it'd give Hungarian fluent editors a chance to look for sources. I'll let WP:HUNGARY know about this article. Whether or not any of the claims are enough to pass AfD is up for debate, but it's enough for speedy criteria. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 07:21, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
