[edit]this article is POV and obviously written by a drooling fan.
- The article reads like an advert to me, or at least, a bio written by Thirlwell's management or some such. Maybe the text was originally sourced from somewhere else? Whatever, this definitely needs work --mcld (talk) 18:46, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
How is a guy who was born in 1960 and hails from Australia in any way "associated with the No Wave era", which occurred in the 1970's in New York City? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.37.144.130 (talk) 21:26, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
- Well, fucking Lydia Lunch for a few years definitely helps. (Um, with that association, I mean...)
- If that's the case, half the Eastern Seaboard contributed to the No Wave movement. But seriously, folks... JG has always gone out of his way to obfuscate his own bio and create a character to live within. I suspect that 1960 may not be a 100% accurate birthdate. He was certainly in NYC at the peak of No Wave and was involved, but how old was he really? 71.206.217.214 (talk) 12:53, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
Actually, you're quite wrong about that NYC bit. He was in the UK, (working for Virgin Records) during that period. I'm sure he was certianly up to speed with most of it as it was going on - but he was not there at the time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.138.22.211 (talk) 17:24, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
If the birthdate is not accurate, it's one he gives if you ask him.
Bizarre sentence
[edit]What on earth does this mean, if anything? Because of his musical diversity he is known for juxtaposing a variety of different styles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.78.86.39 (talk) 10:35, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
It means he releases albums and such with different musical styles- Moonghiest — Preceding unsigned comment added by Moonghiest (talk • contribs) 23:57, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

JG Thirlwell → J. G. Thirlwell – WP:SPACEINITS. Use of periods not without precedent: [1][2][3][4]. --woodensuperman 09:16, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose good faith nom. "JG" looks to be the common and familiar name, and is the name the artist goes by (website, recordings, etc.). WP:SPACEINITS suggests treating this as a "self-published name change". Randy Kryn (talk) 10:09, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- Support we don't generally do stylisms for people whose name is in fact James George. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:08, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose JG Thirlwell is the most common styling, including his official website, and per WP:SPACEINITS, bullet point number two. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:42, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose "JG" is the commonly used form of the name, on recordings and in television credits. Beyond My Ken (talk) 04:36, 18 March 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose - Both seem to more or less be used however his website and social medias go with JG Thirlwell so IMHO we should too. –Davey2010Talk 19:14, 21 March 2018 (UTC)

remix credits
[edit]He did more remix work on front 242's Religion, than the discography section lists. Can someone verify? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.165.165.206 (talk) 20:47, 16 May 2020 (UTC)
