References

[edit]

The subject here is borderline notable. There is one reference for a junior marathon. The subject persists in editing his own article but without providing and verifying references despite advice to the contrary. --Egghead06 (talk) 08:47, 27 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Before this escalates, can I suggest you read again WP:RS and WP:V. These are particularly important as you are editing an article about yourself. The refence must actually verify (that is to say mention) what you are trying to reference. Without such references and the ability of ALL users to be able to verify info, anyone could add anything!. Saying only I know it as it is personal won't cut it. Thanks --Egghead06 (talk) 12:42, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I see where you are coming from, however I don't think you understand the situation. Most of the information on this page is of personal nature. I have referenced all the information that is possible to reference. However things such as my citizenship, coach , height and weight is only known by me and without this information the page is extremely inaccurate. If you decide to edit my page again I will have no other option but to contact Wikipedia to ban/report you. Please think about your actions. addeditor (talk) 10 December 2014 (UTC)

please refer this to whoever you wish. As it is you are ignoring guidelines so another's intervention is welcome. --Egghead06 (talk) 15:07, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop reverting my edits. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Addeditor (talkcontribs)

Hello Addeditor (talk · contribs), egghead06 (talk · contribs) is correct, only verifiable information can be included in Wikipedia, if you can not find a reliable source that mentions your height, weight, etc that information must be removed from the article, specially since the article is a Biography of a living person. Self-published sources made by the subject of the WP:BLP are considered valid for non controversial information. But you must also keep in mind that if you are indeed Mr. Bragg you are strongly discouraged from editing your own article (please see WP:COI).--Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 19:53, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Addeditor: Please do not insult other editors (as you did on the article edit summary) or make threats to have someone banned for following Wikipedia procedures. (This last part falls dangerously close to being a legal threat and can lead to you getting permanently blocked if you keep making statements of this nature.) Also... you are aware that all of this is viewable to the general public, right? If you are who you say you are, please be aware that all of this will be visible to anyone who comes to read about you- including any journalists that may want to write about you. Multiple news outlets mention Wikipedia and/or use it as a starting point for their research, so please take this into consideration. You may feel as if your actions are justified, but it really does come across as you edit warring, insulting Wikipedia editors, and making various threats against them because they did not do exactly what you wanted. While there could have been a smidge more detail to the explanations (I'm overly verbose, so this may just be me), egghead06 (talk · contribs) gave enough of an explanation to where the proper course of action should have been to stop and politely ask questions of himself or other editors rather than to edit war. Notability and COI

[edit]

I have removed the templates since the user with a COI has been blocked indefinitelly, and I have also removed the notability tag as there is a WP:RS with a claim of notability.--Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 07:48, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
