WP:MILHIST Assessment

[edit]

A long, detailed article, but lacking the proper formatting. A reader should be able to tell at a glance (and/or by reading the introduction) the significance or notability of the topic at hand, which wars he fought in, which branch of the military he was in, which country for that matter he fought for; none of this is sufficiently obvious in this article. Please insert an infobox, and split off the main portion of the article from the introduction, which should read something like "James L. Holloway III (b. 19xx) was US Chief of Naval Operations from 19xx to 19xx, and is best known for X. He also served in World War II, as a X, and fought in X and X battles." With a little cleanup, this can become a great article. Thanks for your hard work. LordAmeth 23:15, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Misstatement

[edit]

This article states that Adm. Holloway was Chairman of the JCS. The list of JCS chairmen, however, does not include him, and there seems to be no room for an interim or acting chair. --???
