James R. Splaine → Jim Splaine – While the US contigent used to have an unfortunate tendency to force most articles about American politicians to "full name inclusive of middle initial" without variation, that's since been deprecated. This state legislator's most common name in reliable sources is "Jim", not "James R.", and fortunately there's no naming conflict with other people to feed into an argument about whether "natural" disambiguation is preferable to the occupational kind.
