Name of Ukraine

[edit]

I can understand User Stepheng3 thinking that the name Ukraine needs a definite article. It had been that way for a long time. Rules of English grammar can change, and here is an instance. See the article: Name of Ukraine#Syntax which gives evidence to back my claim that the definite article is not now the preferred use of the name Ukraine any more than it is with the name Argentina; as in Buenos Aires is the Argentina capital. That is acceptable alternative to Buenos Aires is Argentina's capital. If there is an intention to justify "the Ukraine" as in the Jijia River (Prut) article please cite some reliable source. Anticipating no objection I reverted Stepheng3's revision of my edit of the 15th of August. --Fartherred (talk) 20:11, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're right about the definite article. My information was out-of-date. --Stepheng3 (talk) 22:56, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
