Cranston High School West edits

[edit]

Apparently, a handful of students from Cranston High School West, in Rhode Island, have been having an edit war with this article. Reverted a number of vandalism edits back to the 11-29-06 edit by SmackBot, to remove all (apparent) Cranston edits. Gandahar 22:37, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

improvement

[edit]

This article is quite good. To get to GA the references will need to be improved, with more inline citations at least in each section so that we can see what reference is used for what information. Also someone more knowledgeable could check to see if the covereage is broad. Graeme Bartlett 05:16, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA

[edit]

Please provide the peer assessment regarding the articles promotion to GA status. You cannot pass it through without having one.

It needs to be nominated on Wikipedia:Good article nominations foloowing the correct procedures to get a consideration/ review by another person. I changed it back to a B rating until this process is complete. A contributing author cannot just mark it GA. Graeme Bartlett 06:05, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:John coleman football.jpg

[edit]

Image:John coleman football.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Harry Caspar section needs correcting

[edit]

I am working on an entry for Roy Allen one of the reporting umpires in the 1951 incident. Currently this article cites Miller, Petraitis & Jeremiah, 1997 and states "The boundary umpire, Herb Kent, gave evidence that Coleman had retaliated only after he had been punched twice by Caspar, Kent remarking not only that Coleman "was only defending himself", but also emphatically stating twice that "I would have done exactly as he did… It was under provocation".

In fact the source quotes Kent on page 57 and then Allen on page 58 with similar (but not identical) evidence.

Suggest amending paragraph to read

The boundary umpire, Herb Kent, gave evidence that Coleman had retaliated only after he had been punched twice by Caspar, Kent remarking not only that Coleman "was only defending himself", but also emphatically stating that "I would have done exactly as he did… It was under provocation". Goal umpire Roy Allen gave almost identical evidence stating, "If I had been in the same position , I probably would have done the same thing myself
