- ... that after a tornado devastated Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1979, radio station KTRN was just one of two on the air? Source: https://www.timesrecordnews.com/story/news/local/2018/04/10/39-years-after-terrible-tuesday-wichitans-tell-their-stories/477182002/
5x expanded by Sammi Brie (talk). Self-nominated at 18:03, 5 December 2021 (UTC).
- Hi Sammi Brie, review follows: article 5x expanded on 4 December; article exceeds minimum length and is well written; cited inline throughout to reliable sources for the subject; I found no issue with overly close paraphrasing in a spotcheck on some of the sources; hook is interesting, mentioned in the article and checks out to source cited; a QPQ has been carried out. Looks fine to me -Dumelow (talk) 17:29, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- Oh, sorry Sammi Brie, I have one comment. There's some text in the lead that is not mentioned elsewhere in the article. For example the location of the studios (being on Kell Boulevard) and the part about it being the oldest station still in Wichita Falls. Could you take a look at that? - Dumelow (talk) 17:33, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Dumelow: Newspapers.com is struggling right now (probably uses AWS which is having trouble). I was able to get a cite for the latter item (with both other stations having moved). The former item can be verified from the "Profile" link in the infobox. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 17:46, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Sammi Brie, I've restored the tick. I still think it is probably a little non-complaint with WP:LEAD ("Apart from basic facts, significant information should not appear in the lead if it is not covered in the remainder of the article") but I won't delay the DYK over that - Dumelow (talk) 18:18, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Dumelow: This is really common in the topic area, which is why I did it in the first place... Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 18:47, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- Not looking to argue over this or overturn any subject-specific consensus but generally the MOS applies to all articles - Dumelow (talk) 18:52, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- Trust me, I've been there in this very field... It's definitely worth thinking about. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 19:01, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
