Is You Is, Or Is You Ain't Tezuka

[edit]

Whoever found this and linked it to the List of Osamu Tezuka anime page I created, I must say THANK YOU! Further research (which I have attached to this page) has revealed that this is one of three movies that are definitly put together as the "Animerama" (Anime + Drama = Animerama) set from Mushi Productions.

However, so far I have not found any information connecting this movie with Osamu Tezuka.

Yet.

I have reason to believe that given that this film shares the same director as Kureopatora, and is from Mushi Productions, that Osamu Tezuka had a hand somewhere in its creation along the way. For the time being, I'll keep this added to the list of Tezuka's anime, but I will need some hard proof that Tezuka worked on this before losing control of Mushi Pro. I believe it is likely, but I still need hard evidence.

Please, whoever made this page or made the link, share what source you have that shows Tezuka worked on this film.

English subtitles?

[edit]

Is it certain there's no DVD with English subtitles. I watched what appeared to be an official Japanese DVD at university, and it appeared that the Japanese DVD contains English subtitles, for an international audience. 惑乱 Wakuran (talk) 21:40, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unless my teacher added a fansub. 惑乱 Wakuran (talk) 21:42, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've got the COBM-5394 DVD, and there is no subtitle on it. Maybe on another edition ? 82.236.6.49 (talk) 23:48, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Here's an interview with Cinelicious about a recent restoration of the film, as well as a comment by a member of the team saying: "A wider release, blu-ray and more goodies are planned for later this year and 2016." So something to keep an eye on. Opencooper (talk) 04:43, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Turner Classic Movies aired this again

[edit]

TCM aired this on September 10th, 217 at 2am Eastern Standard Time. Since it was mentioned in the wiki that TCM played it back in March, I thought I'd mention that they aired it again.

Man, this movie is something else. 104.10.208.186 (talk) 09:32, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tenebrae, you're more familiar with guidelines than I am, so I have nothing to argue about the title now. Though I'm not 100% sure if its use of external links to the trailer or posters is appropriate. OO 19:53, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@100cellsman: Hi, 웃O. Thank you for asking. Film posters are allowed under the fair-use rationale as given at the posters image-detail page here. I don't know about trailers; offhand, I don't know of posted here for a movie unless it's public domain. I hope this helps. --Tenebrae (talk) 16:40, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Tenebrae, I was actually referring to external links themselves in the [n 1] footnote by Tragedy of Belladonna, I wasn't being clear. OO 01:22, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@100cellsman: Ah, in the External Links. Got it. I hadn't noticed those two links there. I guess they might be considered WP:PROMOTIONAL or possibly WP:LINKFARM, although with a film this small and obscure, which has gone under different names, thus making searching for such content more difficult than otherwise, I can go either way on including those links. No strong feeling either way. You may or may not want to ask a couple other editors. --Tenebrae (talk) 17:51, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
