Dubious chart listing

[edit]

The reason I have added the tag was to bring attention to the uncited changes done by anonymous users to the chart position of Kate Ryan's tracks. I hope that future editors could verify the current position as listed in the article and explain any changes afterwards.--Kenn Caesius 22:48, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"twilight series"?

[edit]

I placed a hidden editorial query after the following statement in the article: 'two more popular songs—"Another Day" and "Let it Rain"—rumored to have been inspired by the twilight series.' There is no context in the article for understanding the reference to 'the twilight series'. --ShelfSkewed Talk 15:10, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name verification

[edit]

Is "Kate Ryan" the legal name for Katrien Verbeeck or it is just a stage name?--Kevin586 17:01, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Katrien Verbeeck is her right name and "Kate Ryan" is used in the showbusiness.--LisaSimpsonMale (talk) 13:31, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The infobox has been updated to reflect this. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 21:16, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chartpositions in the Netherlands

[edit]

Where are the references for those chart positions?--LisaSimpsonMale (talk) 18:35, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We list here the Dutch Mega Top 100, not the Top 40!
  • 2001 Scream For More (#57)
  • 2002 Désenchantée (#4 - not #2)
  • 2002 Mon coeur résiste encore (#58)
  • 2006 Je t'adore (#56)
  • 2007 Voyage voyage (#11 - not #10)
  • 2008 Ella elle l'a (#10 - not #21)--LisaSimpsonMale (talk) 08:14, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion

[edit]

I have deleted the line ""Je t'adore" was released Stateside as an import single, where it has sold decently well among pop music lovers, especially those who like their pop music with European flavour". Firstly, a track cannot have been 'released Stateside as an import single"... the fact it is only available as an import means it has not been released 'Stateside' (a term that doesn't belong in an encyclopaedia). Secondly 'sold decently well' is poor English. And where are the citations for sales of this US import? Vauxhall1964 (talk) 11:22, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please be more specific about what needs to be changed. Hi, Tim! The problem with pictures on Wikipedia is that we (generally) cannot use non-free material. If you want to have a better picture of Kate inserted into the article, it must first be uploaded (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Upload) and then you must certify the image is free for Wikipedia to use under a Creative Commons (or other) license that meets WP requirements. Once that's done, you can either come back here and make the request again or change the article yourself (if the anti-vandalism protection order has expired).
Unfortunately, as it stands now, I cannot process your request. Sorry! — UncleBubba T @ C ) 22:07, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

All of her songs are either in English or French, not Dutch. There is no way to confirm this other than by listening to all of her songs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.125.236.10 (talk) 22:54, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is no mention within the article that she sings in Dutch. I can only speculate that you might want it removed from Category:Dutch-language singers? I have done that. [1]  Chzz  ►  06:24, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Please change the picture used in the right column by the photo you can download here: Kate Ryan Photo 2009 This is an official photo provided by Kate Ryan's management. You will find the same picture on Kate's website: http://kateryan.be/media?page=3 The current picture is not flattering and taken during a rehearsal of a performance in 2007, so since long outdated. Not done:. This official photo is not considered "free content," that is, usable by anyone with few restrictions. Under the non-free content policy, non-free content should only be included if there is "no free equivalent." The current photo in the article is free content, and I think it serves its purpose fine. If you are willing and able to "donate" the official photo, making it free content, then it could be included. --Anon126 (talk - contribs) 16:44, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Kate Ryan herself requested to change her picture on her own wikipedia site saying:

Hi everyone, who can help me with this ?

I love my wikipedia page, but there is a horrible profile picture on there I've tried to change it myself, but no luck...

On the comments we can see the pictre she requested: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2pzpeiap916viaj/Kate_3_099.jpg

Anyway change it, it's already 7 years old picture...

Okey, so we have uploaded the photo and it's already on this wikipedia site: https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kate_Ryan so now just use this image, that is already accepted, what's problem? Voody326 (talk) 20:26, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading the image. However, one more step is necessary: There is still no proof that the copyright holder has agreed to license the image under the stated license. See c:Commons:OTRS for one way to give proof. Thank you for your patience; I know this process is confusing.
(If you have already sent an email to the OTRS team, disregard this message. In that case, I will add the image to the article when your email gets through the OTRS backlog.) —Mr. Granger (talk · contribs) 21:33, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
