A biography of Kim Mueller is "notable" as defined by Wikipedia's notablility criteria for several reasons, including:

  • her appointment as just the second female magistrate judge at the Sacramento Division in the 42 year history of the Eastern District is notable and of interest to many
  • she has been the subject of secondary source material published by the Sacramento Bee and the Sacramento County Bar Association
  • as a local politician of a large metropolitian area, she received significant press coverage, appearing in the Sacramento Bee 532 times during her 5 years in office concerning topics other than herself
  • her position as a Federal Magistrate Judge is a first-level sub-national political office
  • she was more than just a council member, during her tenure she served as vice-mayor and chair of the city's budget panel
  • she was considered a favorite for a seat in the state legislature prior to choosing to go to law school
