King George V Avenue

File:Jerusalem King George plaque.jpg and File:King george ave 2.jpg indicate then the street was named 'King George V Avenue' when it was opened in 1924. There are probably historic maps to confirm that this was the same street. When did it acquire its current name? Also, was the street created in 1924, perhaps involving the demolition of buildings, or was an existing street renamed? Verbcatcher (talk) 20:14, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Came here with the same question. It's also consistently called King George Avenue in the 2008 Jerusalem Post article cited in n8. GrindtXX (talk) 15:04, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
