Cleanup templates

[edit]

If this survives the AFD, the cleanup templates should not be removed until the underlying issues are addressed:

  • If it closes as "Keep" then the notability template can be removed. If it closes as "no consensus" then it should be kept until the notability issues are resolved.
  • The article is in need of a rewrite to match the tone expected of this type of article.
  • More references from secondary, reliable sources independent of the subject are needed.

Need verification

[edit]

We need verification that this player played NCAA Division I basketball. However, that alone would not overcome the notability issues as being a Division I college hoops player is not a criteria for meeting WP:NHOOPS. What WOULD do it would be to pass WP:GNG. One way to do this is to find significant coverage of this person from reliable sources not connected to this person during his college career. Bear in mind that "local" news that routinely provides coverage of all players on the Providence basketball team would need to show more coverage than they routinely give to all players to be considered "significant" coverage. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 01:08, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's a poorly done, fan-made article. He would qualify for notability due to playing professionally. I'll fix up his page, it's what I do :) DaHuzyBru (talk) 01:10, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There is not much on him but I've put what there is. Should meet the requirements now for non-deletion. DaHuzyBru (talk) 01:34, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Playing in a professional developmental league does not meet the requirements of WP:NHOOPS. Despite the cleanup, I'm still not seeing how WP:BIO, WP:GNG, or any other relevant criteria have been met. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 05:48, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

NPR interview

[edit]

When this page was at up for deletion an editor found that he was interviewed by NPR during the week of the discussion. I have added that as an external link but it has some good material that can be used to expand the article. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 01:41, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
