Somebody please integrate this with the category "Ethiopian people"
[edit]There is a category, ""Category:Ethiopian people". This page duplicates part of that, but it will be better if there is one integrated list, not this one and that one. Pete unseth (talk) 19:51, 5 July 2018 (UTC)
- Pete unseth, categories and lists are different kinds of ways of grouping related articles that are considered complementary, not redundant (see this guideline that discusses it). Categories let you quickly and easily include lots of people, but you can only organize them alphabetically, and you can't add any other useful information. This list on the other hand is free-form, like any Wikipedia article, so it can be organized any way that we find suitable. In this case (like most other "List of people from Place" type articles) we organize by field of expertise, and we can add information like year of birth and death, and what the person is notable for. This lets us give the reader context, even if it requires a little more manual effort on our part. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 23:12, 5 July 2018 (UTC)
