Hessian dialect

[edit]

This is not one dialect, but several. Sarcelles (talk) 14:10, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Döner kebab?

[edit]

Sorry, but are we not talking about ethnically German food here? Döner kebab's popularity in Germany is primarily because the large amount of Turkish immigration the country has seen. There's lots of Chinese food and pizza where I live, but I wouldn't call them "Canadian" foods. 24.57.148.137 (talk) 13:22, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Although your comment is 12years old now, I still want to answer this.
Döner Kebab the way it is served in Germany was pretty much unknown in Turkey. Of course this has changed over the years and Döner Kebab can be found all over the EU.
So yes the dish called Döner Kebab was invented in Germany by Turkish immigrants. This doesn't make the food Turkish in origin but more in ethnicity. Probably comparable to Chinese Food and American-Chinese Food. 2A02:3038:20D:280B:99FA:D08A:9921:6505 (talk) 15:39, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte.

[edit]

Name says it all, right?

Black Forest

[edit]

Just want to mention that Leberkaese is known as fleishkaese in the Black Forest. Also, with all the fruit orchards in the Black Forest, maybe someone could add Obsttorte and Schwarzwaldkucken. ```` — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.52.81.12 (talk) 20:22, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Schnitzel

[edit]

Ought to be on here somewhere. They eat it all over Germany/Austria. 155.213.224.59 (talk) 18:20, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Franconia

[edit]
  • Franconia is part of Bavaria. Bavaria is Franconia and Old Bavaria.
So we could put these two as sub sections of Bavaria

Korn picture

[edit]
Korn distillery in Nordhausen.

Can we swap the picture of a distillery with a picture of actual Korn? Not being German, I, for one, have no idea what Korn even looks like. JIP | Talk 21:45, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Schnitzel again

[edit]

I am not really a author or creator so I don't wanna just change things.

Anyhow, Schnitzel is very popular in Germany yes, but there is no Schnitzel made of beef. The cheap kind usually is made with pork or some sort of poultry (chicken for example). The more expensive kind that is usually served at more expensive restaurants is made using veal definitely not beef. 2A02:3038:20D:280B:99FA:D08A:9921:6505 (talk) 15:44, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
