Jacqui Lambie

[edit]

I don't think people like Jacqui Lambie and Mal Brough, who acknowledge indigenous descent, should be listed alongside people who regard themselves as indigenous (rather than just their ancestors). Unless I'm mistaken, Lambie and Brough both (1) don't call themselves indigenous and (2) aren't called indigenous by reliable sources, so it would be verging on WP:OR to include them – see for example this article, where Lambie refers to "white Australians" as "we" and "the indigenous" as "they". I don't think that Lambie and Brough (and anyone else in state parliaments) should be excluded completely from the article, though, just not all lumped in together. I've re-added them in a separate list. IgnorantArmies (talk) 09:50, 22 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Think Bob Katter should be added to this list as well.
He is known to occasionally/selectively identify as aboriginal and claims ancestry at the very least Buddsean (talk) 05:31, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
