Ireland[edit]

On the Hook Peninsula in Co Wexford, Ireland, there is a small village called Templetown with a ruined (?) Templar church. Millbanks (talk) 21:36, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Requiring sources[edit]

I'm going through all the claims here to find sources. Considering that this article is susceptible to Templar fantasy (like the earlier claims that some churches in Denmark must be templar churches, since they were round) I'm going to keep claims that look likely but tag them with [citation needed] if I can't find sources. Once I'm done (it's going slow) I'll start removing entries without citations. I'm directly removing things that seem unlikely, like being in regions with no known Templar activity or claims about places I can't even find. If you find a source, please add them back with the source. --OpenFuture (talk) 11:15, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming?[edit]

"Associated with" is very vague. I suggest we rename this to "List of Knights Templar sites". --OpenFuture (talk) 09:52, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming?[edit]

The word 'site' in inevitably associated with websites. Could be open to misunderstanding, and what would an entry which contained a list of (web)sites associated with the Templars be called? Maybe best stick with 'places'? WaterRich (talk) 18:07, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think this will be a problem. Calling historical sites "sites" is well accepted. --OpenFuture (talk) 21:09, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Zichron Ya'akov[edit]

WShere can I find information and historical background for the Templar settlement near Zichron Ya'akov, Israel?--Nahum (talk) 04:40, 18 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, my mistake. They are German Christians but no conncetion to Templars.--Nahum (talk) 05:30, 18 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notability or completeness?[edit]

Should we try to include all sites funded or owned by the Knight Templars, or should we limit this list to places that are otherwise notable? Opinions? --OpenFuture (talk) 05:09, 27 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think that other important Templar (only Templar or largely Templar) centers and sites should be added (among those not included), the most importante at least (though the importance compared to others is often based on diverse criteria, whether hierarchical or by greatness - or chronological), including several or some removed from the list - but substantiated, of course. Your question is relevant and makes sense. A criteria should be established. --LuzoGraal (talk) 15:21, 27 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Quinta da Regaleira[edit]

Making Quinta da Ragaleira, a house and gardens built in XIX century in Sintra, Portugal, influenced by occultism and the romantic memory of the templars, is not only an abuse, it’s ridiculous. It was built by a rich man with connections to the free masons, and has no direct connection to the templars. 2001:8A0:6A40:8900:ADBE:3DD3:FC9D:9C7D (talk) 11:07, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
