I'm not sure whether this article is really necessary for Wikipedia. Most of this information can be found at List of Melbourne Cup winners and at the articles on individual Melbourne Cups. The list needs a lot of expansion, currently only consisting of this year's race, and the second list is really just a more detailed list of Melbourne Cup winners. Both links given require membership of the website to access, so I am unsure whether either of these support the information given. Bozzio (talk) 04:01, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK. I will concentrating on removing these offending links and provide alternate ones. As far as the list is concerned, the List of Melbourne Cup winners is inadequate to my mind. It gives hardly any detail. I attempted to expand that list, but was reverted. Rather than get into a useless firefight, I took this approach.
