List

[edit]

This source seems to suggest a much higher number of birds than 507, and lists many of them. I do not know enough about birds to feel comfortable making such a substantial edit, but maybe in the future somebody with more knowledge can update the list to include these.

@Ikjbagl: Our article, despite saying 507 at the top, seems to have 508 species listed.
At the source you suggested, Swaziland Bird Checklist (1992) by the Swaziland National Trust Commission there are 510 species listed. That's 26 years old.
The reference listed for the article at Avibase https://avibase.bsc-eoc.org/checklist.jsp?lang=EN&region=sz&list=clements now lists 519 species and is dated 2018.
The external link at Nature Worldwide at http://www.birdlist.org/swaziland.htm gives 369 species.
Any thoughts on which source is best? I'd be inclined to go with Avibase.  SchreiberBike | ⌨  23:32, 8 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@SchreiberBike: I agree, Avibase seems like it's run reliably, and that number seems consistent with the previous ones.
"Bird Checklists of the World is part of Avibase and Bird links to the World, which are designed and maintained by Denis Lepage, and hosted by Bird Studies Canada, which is a co-partner of Birdlife International."
