Recent History

[edit]

The recent history has been added to. However these are activities that occured in the 1980s and 1990s ( post Sobhuza era ). More still needs to be added such as the constitutional review commission and other events. A new section on the 2000s needs to be created as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ludvonga (talkcontribs) 23:31, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

Triggered by \bhistoryofnations\.net\b on the local blacklist

Requested move 23 October 2018

Moved to "Eswatini" titles per the outcome of the move request at Talk:Eswatini. bd2412 T 01:22, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Consistency (WP:CONSISTENCY) with new page name (which has been deliberated over and successfully moved from Swaziland to eSwatini). Per the previous (speedily-moved) requested move for Flag of Swaziland to ...eSwatini, moving the pages to be consistent with the country's article title doesn't seem to be controversial. (Also, REDIRECTS should be created from the alternate capitalization of "Eswatini" for each of these pages.) There's also a bunch of categories with "Swaziland" in the name that would need to be moved to match the pages. Paintspot Infez (talk) 15:58, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support This really just needs to be done, without the debate now the main article has been moved. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:59, 23 October 2018 (UTC)--John B123 (talk) 17:32, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - Now the main country page has been moved to eSwatini, all other pages need to be moved to reflect this. I am also very surprised the name change made it given the opposition to Côte d'Ivoire and Timor-Leste.
  • Strong oppose. The WP:COMMONNAME is clearly Swaziland, not "eSwatini". Furthermore, "eSwatini" clearly violates English spelling rules and is not an English name (at the very least it would have to be spelled Eswatini). Are we going to move other countries to their local forms, e.g. Deutschland, Polska, Latvija, or does this (new) privilege to impose local forms in English language usage only apply to African countries? --Tataral (talk) 18:28, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • eSwatini has English an official language which makes this very different from those cases. English has many words with unusual capitalisation - a nearby case is KwaZulu-Natal. Timrollpickering 19:37, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
      • The fact that the English language has an official status in Swaziland, like in countless other countries, doesn't give Swaziland any authority over the English language, on a global scale. English is widely spoken in most European countries, to the extent that it could even be said to enjoy a semi-official status not that different from the status the language has in various African countries where the vast majority have other native languages. --Tataral (talk) 10:39, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Nominator's comment - while you raise good points, these moves are JUST for CONSISTENCY with the new page title (that's already been/being discussed thoroughly). These moves are just for consistency with the current article title. That's it. Paintspot Infez (talk) 12:22, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
