"By 1978 the Marx brand disappeared" date is too early
[edit]"downturn in the British economy in conjunction with high interest rates caused Dunbee-Combex-Marx to struggle, and these unfavorable market conditions caused a number of British toy manufacturers, including Dunbee-Combex-Marx, to collapse. By 1978 the Marx brand disappeared, and Dunbee-Combex-Marx filed for bankruptcy and was liquidated in 1980."
I think this is too early as I have Marx toy catalogs from 1978 and 1979 and the Sears 1979 xmas catalog offered and sold the last of the marx toys sets. 99.53.138.117 (talk) 15:15, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- I agree -- I have a D-C-M British trade catalog from 1980, and a U.S. issued catalog from 1979. While I believe U.S. operations ceased sometime in '79, the Erie and Glen Dale factories were not liquidated until around 1982. I'm making the change, and will research my files to pinpoint some more definitive dates --Chachap (talk) 05:06, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
If you find these newer catalogs, please be sure to 'reference' them. --Cstevencampbell (talk) 02:46, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Picture should not have been deleted. There was no copyright infringement. No logos. No packaging. You mean I can't take a picture of any of my Johnny West dolls and publish them just because they are Johnny West dolls?--Cstevencampbell (talk) 05:30, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
