Here are the issues I found:

There's nothing at all outside his baseball career. No personal life info, high school notes, anything. For an active player in particular there will be at least something out there.
"In 2006, he was clocked at 3.4 seconds from home plate to first base on a bunt." This doesn't seem to have a purpose in the lead; fine to have in the body though.
URLs need accessdates in the refs, and some are missing publisher info.
"He was named an Arizona League All–Star for his performances" performance.
The professional section should at least start with when he was signed by the Padres organization.
Rookie-level, as well as the other A-class notes on first mention, should be linked to minor league baseball#the appropriate section there.
change Rule V Draft to Rule 5 draft.
"he dropped fly ball from" a fly ball.
This should have a non-baseball person look through it for jargon use.

This article has some good points, but it would take some effort to get it to GA status. As a result, I'm going to fail this currently. Once all the issues are fixed, and perhaps after a PR or copyedit, it could be renominated. Wizardman _{Operation Big Bear} 16:41, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
