Commentary

[edit]

We aren't a newspaper. Our articles should not include what was said about this or that because this is trivia. Its not pertinent to our task of providing a concise overview. There are a host of issues related to inserting quotations. - Shiftchange (talk) 09:54, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Connection to Logos Foundation

[edit]

I reverted this edit because of its WP:BLP and WP:COATRACK concerns, but it was restored. It mentions the Logos Foundation, but Lyle Shelton's connection with that is very tenuous: according to the article cited, his father "apparently" joined it when Lyle was pre-teens. But there is no direct connection between Lyle and the church, so to have a paragraph on it is a clear example of WP:COATRACK and given the negative nature of the connection, is a BLP violation. Dubious edits & dubious reversions

[edit]

I think editors on this page need to think carefully before doing knee-jerk edits and knee-jerk revisions. I see some crazy anon edits, but StAnselm’s reversion of an ACL leadership box on the grounds that the template was designed for political parties is pretty suspect. Wiki templates get poached and adapted all the time and it seems hugely over-sensitive to object to this usage. Why is it controversial to show leadership of the ACL when that is the subject’s main claim to notability? —☸ Moilleadóir 04:05, 15 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
