Picture
[edit]Anyone have a picture? -- Barry Zuckerkorn 20:03, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
- I have a picture from his short visit to Mora IK, but he faces away from the camera so his name on the (away) jersey is visible but not his face. Would this add any value to the article? --Bamsefar75 (talk) 12:57, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Traded to Atlanta
[edit]Am I the only one that finds it hilarious that someone wants a source cited for Hossa's trade to Atlanta? There's a photo of him in a uniform on the page and anyone who knows anything about hockey knows that Hossa is an Atlanta Thrasher now. Wikipedia users can be so moronic sometimes. --Stukov 06:01, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
Redundant much?
[edit]Is there a point to the Transactions section? It just repeats information already given earlier in the article, and it's not part of the standard hockey player template-thingy. Deleting, perhaps? ConkblockCity (talk) 14:42, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
- It's not part of the template, but it does appear in some FAs (Dominik Hasek, Wayne Gretzky).-Wafulz (talk) 14:53, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Red Wings picture
[edit]There definitely needs to be a picture of him in the Red Wings uniform. I know there are some out there, I Googled them myself, but I don't know enough about the image use policies to upload one. Anyone care to post a pic, or educate me? Oreobabe29 (talk) 20:11, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
First playoff overtime goal
[edit]I probably wouldn't have noticed it if not for the fact tag, but Hossa didn't score the overtime goal in game 5 last year. Petr Sykora won the game for the Pens. Hossa scored early in the game. I remember it because it was such a long game (3 overtimes).Kingdomcarts (talk) 05:57, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
- Nevermind. I just re-read it. I thought it was talking about the cup finals game 5, not the Eastern semis. I'll see if I can't dig up a cite on nhl.com.Kingdomcarts (talk) 05:59, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Scoring Leader 2008/2009 for Red Wings?
[edit]Pavel Datsyuk had 97 Points, was 4th in the NHL in scoring and lead the Detroit Red Wings. While Marian Hossa lead the Red Wings in Goals Scored. Scoring in the NHL is a combination of Assists and Goals. One point for each. Whoever made that edit, obviously doesn't know their hockey. —Preceding unsigned comment added by LtColonelBlack (talk • contribs) 06:01, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Blackhawks pictures
[edit]I've uploaded couple of pictures taken during pre-warm up at HP Pavilion in San Jose. Hope they complement the article well, please feel free to adjust, reposition or remove. Would anyone have or be able to point me to a creative-commons-licensed image of Hossa in home colors?
- Thanks for the addition, the pictures look very good in this article. I am still looking for Hossa in a home uniform... I'll post it on here if I find it on flickr. -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 16:04, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
2nd Slovak to Score 500 Goals
[edit]I would like to clarify the wording under the Chicago Blachawks section which discusses Hossa's 500th career goal. This article from the Chicago Tribune states that 3 Slovaks have reached the 500 goal landmark.[1] However, the wording in this article uses the term 'born in Slovakia'. Peter Bondra was born in Ukraine and later became a Slovakian National. Only Stan Mikita and Hossa were born in Slovakia. Technically Hossa was born in Czechoslovakia, but the area he was born in is present day Slovakia. -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 04:38, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
'Retirement'
[edit]As of May 2018, Hossa has yet to officially retire. He has simply stated he will never play again. He stated he will officially retire after the 2020-21 season when his contract expires.[2][3] This is a similar case to Nathan Horton, David Clarkson, Chris Pronger, and Pavel Datsyuk, who stopped playing NHL games but were under contract by other teams. I would like to use the verbiage in Horton’s article, which states, “currently under contract by the…” until the contract either expires or is bought-out. -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 03:42, 20 May 2018 (UTC)
- I have no problem with that. The NHL.com article actually goes into detail that him retiring before the end of his contract could cause cap problems. It is very unlikely he will officially retire before it ends. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 03:56, 20 May 2018 (UTC)
Junior Hockey Career?
[edit]No mention of his winning the Memorial Cup while playing for the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League in 1998? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.135.176.108 (talk) 17:47, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- Under the second paragraph of Marián Hossa#Ottawa Senators (1998–2004), "After seven games in the NHL, the Senators assigned Hossa to junior, where he tallied 45 goals and 40 assists for 85 points in 53 games with the Winterhawks in 1997–98, earning him the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy as WHL rookie of the year, as well as CHL and WHL West First Team All-Star honors. He led the Winterhawks to a President's Cup as WHL champions en route to the 1998 Memorial Cup championship". It's also under the Awards section Most modern web browsers, even on mobile, have a text search option. It's pretty helpful :) -- StarScream1007 ►Talk 18:40, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
