I believe there is an intention to confuse. The Iranica reference seems to be talking about something else. Besides it gives no reference to what it asserts, The Marwanids in Amed (Diyarbakir) could not have been Arabs. We also have sharafnama asserting that they were Kurds. Unless there is more evidence I propose to delete this OR statement. --هیوا (talk) 09:54, 20 April 2014 (UTC)
On 12 August 2022, it was proposed that this article be moved from Marwanids to Marwanids (Diyar Bakr). The result of the discussion was moved. |

I think there is an error. Ibn al-Athir was born 1161, so he cannot be a contemporary to Nasr al-Dawla.

Protect this page
[edit]Can someone please make this article not to be edited, to protect it from vandalism. 212.237.120.162 (talk) 20:23, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
- "..to protect it from vandalism."
- You mean like removing Arabic from the infobox? --Kansas Bear (talk) 21:11, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
Well there is no reference for that, so don't add something that has no sources to prove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.237.121.34 (talk) 08:54, 16 December 2021 (UTC)

Marwanids → Marwanids (Diyar Bakr) – The primary topic for the name Marwanids is the Umayyad Caliphate, entirely unrelated and materially more notable. This is clear from both Google Scholar and Google Books. An alternate name might be "Kurdish Marwanids". Onceinawhile (talk) 23:25, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
- Support, but make Marwanids a dab page. Srnec (talk) 16:33, 13 August 2022 (UTC)
- Support but agree that Marwanids should be a dab page. —Al Ameer (talk) 18:28, 13 August 2022 (UTC)
@Srnec and Al Ameer son: I have made the dab page. Would like either of you to update the description for the Caliphate accordingly. Thanks. – robertsky (talk) 17:39, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
