re: Order of St. Lazarus claim[edit]

The last paragraph reads "During a visit in Paris in 1841 with the purpose to seek support for the Melkite Church, he adopted for himself and for his successors the office of Spiritual Protector of the Order of Saint Lazarus that operated in Palestine. From that time to 1910 the Melkite patriarchs administrated such an order." This is unsourced and, I suspect, untrue. The Order of St. Lazarus has been claiming this since the early-20th century, but have never produced any documents to back it up. Furthermore, in a letter published in 1930 in the Catholic newspaper "La Croix", the then Patriarch of the same branch of the Melkite Church, one Cyril IX Moghabghab, stated that neither he nor his branch of the Church could serve as patron for the modern Order, because that Order was not recognized by the Holy See, or by the government of France. This claim should be referenced by a reliable, third-party source or it will be removed. Occam's Shaver (talk) 21:33, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
