The first McCafe in Swanston St. Melbourne closed - Where is the world's oldest McCafe?
[edit]The first McCafe in Swanston St. Melbourne closed in 2017 to make way for the Melbourne Metro Tunnel. If the Original McCafe is closed - where is the World's Oldest McCafe? https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/mcdonald-s-demands-super-size-compensation-for-losing-busiest-city-store-20190626-p521kd.html Presumably it is at another location in Melbourne? Anyone know? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2405:6E00:208B:802A:8801:B132:D174:EF15 (talk) 10:44, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
Should this be merged?
[edit]the article McCafe redirects to mcdonald's, but Mccafe is this article. 75.61.130.239 (talk) 06:01, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Move?
[edit]This is an informal spelling of McCafé. The page should be moved. PD (talk) 21:39, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Clean Up
[edit]I cleaned up and sourced the article. I removed the UK template as this is worldwide. There are a ton of sources if someone wants to take this further. TRAVELLINGCARIMy storyTell me yours 17:42, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Confused
[edit]The article is confusing - are there actually separate McCafe outlets anywhere? The only one I've ever seen (in the UK) was actually a little area within a normal McDonalds, and that was done away with when the restaurant was refurbished in the new style earlier this year. 217.155.20.163 (talk) 12:52, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- There are a number in Australia as well as the US, I don't know if there are any more remaining un the UK. The official site purports to have more info but I can't access it at the moment. TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 18:05, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Contradiction?
[edit]This paragraph mentions the first McCafe to open in the US:
The chain spread to 13 countries by 2002,[2] with the first one in the United States opening in Chicago, Illinois, in May 2001 when there were about 300 worldwide.[5] In 2007, the chain expanded to Japan as part of McDonald's efforts to boost sales with healthier soup and sandwich offerings and reach out to new customers who favoured traditional coffee shops.[6] Despite being a relatively small part of McDonald's overall strategy, there are currently 1,300 worldwide.[7]
Yet the next paragraph states that there is no store concept in the US, only a beverage:
McDonald's is introducing a coffee line called "McCafé" nationwide in the United States.[8] Unlike in other countries, "McCafé" is just a drink, not a full coffee shop.
Which is correct? --93.197.149.150 (talk) 19:48, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not sure anymore. I know the McCafé concept in Europe is a coffee-house style because I was intrigued when I was there for an extended period in 2008. The concept was new to me then, and I hadn't heard about anything like that in the States. Then recently they've been promoting the "McCafé" which is lattès and those types of drinks. I changed the second paragraph because I felt it was misleading and the source given was on the subject of the coffee beverage. Show me a McCafé (coffee house) in the US in 2009 (not 2005). Even the McCafé website (www.mcdonalds.com/usa/mccafe.html) redirects to the beverages. That's my reasoning. --MPD T / C 03:32, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
McCafe in Australia is EXCELLENT
[edit]McCafe in Australia is the best. I hear McCafe is coming to Canada and they are not following Australia's lead. This will only give McCafe a bad name in North America and even if they do finally change to Aussie style, it will be too late. Please McDonald's, do it right the first time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.54.78.38 (talk) 23:16, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
[edit]Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
