Paine's having worked uner Walter Dornberger is not contentious and quite notable, especially in view of Dornberger's résumé. But we'll get back to this later. Whiskey Pete 19:28, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
On the Dornberger "association": Dornberger was a rocket and space systems engineer who worked at the Bell Buffalo plant, known to be associated with the Air Force Dyna-Soar spaceplane project. Bell Textron in Fort Worth built
helicopters; Dornberger had no professional qualifications for such work, and I have not found any information he ever lived in Texas. The only sources that claim a link between Dornberger and Paine (aside from the fact that they both worked for Bell) are by conspiracy theorists, and I have found no evidence that such a link exists.
I am currently trying to coax information out of
Bell Helicopters on the matter, though it's not easy -- I used to work for a big corporation, and it's hard to get a big dinosaur to pay attention to one's little self. In the meantime, does anyone actually know any specifics
