Dornberger association[edit]

Paine's having worked uner Walter Dornberger is not contentious and quite notable, especially in view of Dornberger's résumé. But we'll get back to this later. Whiskey Pete 19:28, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On the Dornberger "association": Dornberger was a rocket and space systems engineer who worked at the Bell Buffalo plant, known to be associated with the Air Force Dyna-Soar spaceplane project. Bell Textron in Fort Worth built helicopters; Dornberger had no professional qualifications for such work, and I have not found any information he ever lived in Texas. The only sources that claim a link between Dornberger and Paine (aside from the fact that they both worked for Bell) are by conspiracy theorists, and I have found no evidence that such a link exists.

I am currently trying to coax information out of Bell Helicopters on the matter, though it's not easy -- I used to work for a big corporation, and it's hard to get a big dinosaur to pay attention to one's little self. In the meantime, does anyone actually know any specifics about Dornberger's career with Bell? Did he ever work in Texas? Did he ever have anything to do with the Bell Textron division?
