[edit]No mention in the article at all of the Bali 9 saga, probably what he is best remembered for in Australia. Yet "It is widely accepted that Keelty was the Australian public face following the 2002 Bali bombings that took the lives of 202 people, including 88 Australians, that enabled the community to grieve.[5]" A nonsense sentence, and the reference link goes to an ABC news story about Keelty's involvement in Scott Rush (Bali 9) death row case??
"In 2005, Keelty was criticised by the Law Council of Australia[6] for comments allegedly detrimental to her defence." . . . Whose defence? This article is basically hagiography and it is a total mess. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.56.86.135 (talk) 04:17, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
It's not that the guy was a total scumbag . . . but no mention of Bali 9 ? It's like not mentioning the Vietnam war on Robert McNamara's page . . .
Also the Muhamed Haneef visa affair, mentioned below (in 2009!!) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.56.86.135 (talk) 05:20, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

- This version of the article in The Age said it would not be investigated. All I said is that the edit was made by an unregistered user, not that anyone had "infiltrated the site" whatever that means! Angela. 14:07, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thats the media for you. Some do try to beat it up a little to sell papers and I trust on what you said if anyone doubts you as I've found the something in the past myself. If I ever see or bump into Mick Keelty I'll try and get a photograph to add to the article. Bidgee (talk) 16:51, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Wikipedia will survive without his photo, but if you are sufficiently motivated, and since you are in Aus, I assume, and I am not, maybe his office will release one with the proper licensing to be used on WP. If you care enough.--Wehwalt (talk) 18:07, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Gah.
[edit]Apparently the Sydney Morning Herald regards vandalism on wikipedia as something out of the ordinary, what abhorrent journalistic filler. SMH should be ashamed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.172.117.128 (talk) 01:38, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
The vandalism of Mick Keelty's wikipedia entry is easily one of the hottest and most talked about topics in Australia, if not, the western world at the moment. 121.44.82.92 (talk) 02:21, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
controversy
[edit]Is it fair that this article doesn't mention haneef, etc? I think it needs to be added. Opinions? (unsigned by IP)
- Can you expand on the connection, perhaps with a couple of linked news articles?--Wehwalt (talk) 13:37, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
