Tsunami
[edit]I could not find anything other than hearsay that indicated that this city has been completely destroyed, so I changed the page to read "severely damaged" and added a citation (the 1800 homes destroyed). Links here (linked) and here (paywall). I don't know if this is good Wikipedia etiquette, so apologies if I did something in the wrong order. If you find something more reliable that says the town was destroyed, please update the page. Thanks. 173.69.169.86 (talk) 04:28, 12 March 2011 (UTC)

- Updated with CNN video link. --George100 (talk) 05:05, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
In the latest round of satellite images (such as on Google Earth), it's pretty clear that the city center was not actually flooded by the tsunami, and the photos and images were taken of the coastal edges of the city. It looks like the video is a case of media sensationalism, but I've yet to find a non-original research source to confirm this, so there's not yet grounds to edit the article. 72.66.209.125 (talk) 15:16, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- Can't CNN who are showing this confirm it? There's no danger to fly over the area... or is there? פשוט pashute ♫ (talk) 01:06, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

[edit]CNN seems to be calling this place "Minami Soma". 184.144.160.156 (talk) 04:50, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
Mayor
[edit]Article says that it is Katsunobu Sakarai, but infobox says that it is Issei Watanabe. --84.137.22.74 (talk) 06:59, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
