What I want to know about his Rapture position.[edit]

Is if he believed the Abomination of Desolation or at least the revealing of The Antichrist will happen before the saints are taken to heaven. That is the key to if I'd consider him truly "Mid-Trib" or effectively Pre-Trib--JaredMithrandir (talk) 00:46, 3 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

The lead specifically stated that Edwards is notable for for his teaching on the "rapture" before its popularization by John Nelson Darby (now removed). After scouring the Internet and libraries, I can find nothing that specifically supports this other than a claim made by Tim LaHaye. Any others who note it are referencing LaHaye, so that seems that LaHaye is the source of it. But there is no evidence that Edwards's Millennium, Last Days Novelties exists, thus making it impossible to verify the claim and/or to see what Edwards actually said. We can't call this notable if it all stems from a single source (LaHaye) who has a bias to "prove" rapture theory existed before Darby. I have since removed this from the lead and reworded what is addressed in the article to be attributed to LaHaye (a more appropriate way to deal with it, since it is questionable/unverified).
