Title[edit]

Shouldn't the title be "Mr Methane"? "Mr." with a full stop is an Americanism and isn't used anywhere on his website. 82.24.183.21 (talk) 17:44, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Joke?[edit]

If so, ha ha and perhaps it should be removed? If not then ha ha and provide some references. Am I out of line here? --Ambassadorhorn 02:53, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes you are. Bow down to Mr Methane, your new god 82.69.80.20

Just some of the reliable printed Mr. Methane reference material is listed below. I've gone for the quality broadsheets and BBC publications here as a opposed to the many tabloid articles that also exist.

Comprehensive article about Mr. Methane in The Sunday Telegraph (London) of June 27, 1993 ("Review" section, page 7) entitled "Ride the Wild Wind" by Stephen Pile.

Front Page Article. The Independent ( London ) 1st January 1994.

Also chapter about Mr. Methane in paperback book entitled. When Will I Be Famous by Martin Kelner

Paperback: 216 pages Publisher: BBC Books (12 Jun 2003) Language English ISBN-10: 0563487771 ISBN-13: 978-0563487777

Also there is a review of his Melbourne Comedy Festival show on the Chortle Comedy website by Steve Bennett see

Finally a search of "Mr Methane" on youtube reveals some of his appearances on many TV shows.

I'm sure there is much more if you devoted your life to researching this man but frankly I haven't got the time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.109.216.244 (talk) 09:55, August 29, 2007 (UTC)

I've put the above references on the page, plus a link to clips of his act in the UK, US, Sweden etc. User:Thejohnfleming 12:35, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fake[edit]

I saw his Britain's got Talent performance on Youtube and other vdieos and to be honest I think the farts sound fake, does anyone agree?92.23.210.67 (talk) 19:00, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you saw what he did on Das Supertalent (Germany's Got Talent), then you would beg to differ. After exposing his bare bottom - while lying flat on his back and legs up in the air - he inserted a straw, loaded with a dart, into his anus and farted it out with enough velocity to send the projectile right in to a large balloon.

Fair use rationale for Image:Mr methane dot com.jpg[edit]

Image:Mr methane dot com.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I do hope source(s) can be found to support this recently removed passage (as it were):

"He has also performed internationally. He has been dubbed the “King of Farts” in Norway where he performed "The Blue Danube" waltz. He also performed on TV3’s The Robert Aschberg Showin Sweden, before that country’s Foreign Minister Anna Lindh and other government officials. Aschberg’s audience was delighted by Mr. Methane’s performance, while Aschberg himself was in hysterics. However, Foreign Minister Lindh and her party, while smiling and laughing politely at first, clearly became uncomfortable and displeased as the performance progressed. Lindh then objected to Mr. Methane performing a rendition of Sweden’s national anthem. Aschberg faced severe criticism following Mr. Methane’s appearance. He was reprimanded and his show temporarily suspended. Mr. Methane ended his tour of Scandinavia on the television channel Yle TV2 in Finland, where he performed "Greensleeves."

I found this one of the most interesting parts of the article. Some fascinating footage from Finland here. And, of course, the "great man" himself here Martinevans123 (talk) 19:45, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
