Did you know... that the Iraqi government issued an arrest warrant for Wathiq al-Battat, the head of a new Shi'a Iraqi militia group called the Mukhtar Army?
Presently the identity, background, and connections of this group are not at all well established, and are subject to quite differing reports and claims, depending on their source. Given that the conflict on the ground in Iraq is so ideologically contested throught the region (and elsewhere), we should be aware of the risk of inadvertantly furthering one side's spin on matters.
