Need a better photo

[edit]

I think you need to find a better photo than that :-S This one seems to be more dominated by a huge white blob, than by a monorail :-( — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheAMmollusc (talkcontribs) 07:55, 16 March 2011 (UTC) Ooops, well spotted, that bot! I forgot to sign it, sorry. TheAMmollusc (talk) 12:55, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea. The hard part is not finding an image, but finding one that Wikipedia is legally able to use by being compatible with Wikipedia's free licensing (one that can be freely modified, shared, ...). On this occasion I've found such an image on commons and updated the page to use it.[1] Please thank the original photography for being willing to freely share their work! (Of course, the next best is to try and take a good quality photograph yourself and make it freely available to others to use). —Sladen (talk) 13:13, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Monorail - not moved from Butlins

[edit]

This article would suggest that the Monorail did not come from a Butlins holiday camp after all. Garuda3 (talk) 22:13, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A lot of good info in this page too which discusses the link to Butlins. Garuda3 (talk) 22:18, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. Butlins appears to have had two monorails one at Minehead and one at Skegness which closed in 1996 and 2002 respectively so couldn't have been moved to Beaulieu.[2]. The latest coverage of the Beaulieu monorail says says built by butlins which is consistent with them partnering with the engineering firm. "A History of the Butlin's Railways: The Story of Billy Butlin's Amusement Park and Holiday Camp Miniature Railways, Including Other Associated Railways and Transport Systems" might have something if someone could get their hands on it.©Geni (talk) 04:39, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
