GCStJ
[edit]The citation for Conn's GCStJ was recently removed. I realize that I did not add a Gazette citation as has been used for his KStJ, but I would hardly say that the Priory of Scotland is a third party source. It seems to me that an official Priory of the Order would be an authoritative source for someone's standing within the Order. Unless someone can provide a compelling reason why it should not be used, I'll revert to the source I added earlier. Thanks!--dave-- 19:19, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
- I was the one that removed the reference. There is no evidence of Conn being advanced to a Bailiff Grand Cross in either the London Gazette, Edinburgh Gazette or the Australian Gazette. I have no doubt that Conn is a Bailiff Grand Cross, but there is no official gazette article to prove it that I can find. The reason I called the Priory of Scotland's article a third party reference, is because Conn was a member of the Australian Priory, not Scotland's. In Conn's own first official address, he said The organisation is not one body, but an alliance of different organisations, the single body is actually a small group of people operating out of London. - Fair enough. Do you think that an authoritative source would only be one that comes from London? Would something like the NSW Annual Report of the SJA be acceptable? The 2012 report is available here: http://www.stjohnnsw.com.au/publications/ and lists Conn being promoted. Thanks.--dave-- 16:49, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
The 2012 report should be suffice: file:///C:/Users/Nford24/Downloads/2012stjohnnswannualreport.pdf I'll add it in. Nford24 (PE121 Personnel Request Form) 00:30, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- Fantastic! Thanks for the discussion.--dave-- 15:15, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
