child lit assessment

[edit]

I have assessed this article for child lit as a (high) c class. to bring it over the line to a b class and beyond:) please see the following comments/questions: the lead section needs some improvement ie. it is mostly in the past tense so that it is confusing, for example, as to who now administers the award, also it may help readers if the most prominent winners are mentioned in the lead?; also a couple of significant winners as a final sentence at the end of each category's words; how are the judges actually chosen and who have they been/are they? include words about controversial winners if any; how are the awards funded, any benefactors?; could include some pictures of prominent winners ie. authors/illustrators/book covers/illustrations.
