Article title
[edit]I think this article belongs at Nightingale floor as WP:NC encourages singular titles. Any objections to the article being moved? ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 20:42, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yes (creak), singular for article (chirp) titles, plural for categories. Agree with suggestion. (Squeak) Fg2 02:42, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- WP:NC#Prefer singular nouns. Seems uncontroversial to me. I'll support this move.--Endroit 15:48, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
Okay, since there don't seem to be any objections, I've moved it. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 18:07, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
Possible mislepping?
[edit]"An information sign in Nijō castle states that "The singing sound is not actually intentional, stemming rather from the movement of nails against clumps "
Clumps? Clumps of what? Is that supposed to be 'clamps'? Can someone verify and correct it? StarChaser Tyger (talk) 10:04, 5 February 2020 (UTC)
- Near as I can tell it is, actually, "clumps". I think the implication is that the wear and tear over the years caused the floors to warp slightly and thus cause the nail-rubbing and associated sound, and whoever wrote the information sign just went with the word "clumps" (which is admittedly a bit of an odd choice to a native English-speaker). Musical roads related?
[edit]What on earth does this have to do with musical roads? They both involve noise? 63.155.220.232 (talk) 10:38, 9 April 2020 (UTC)
This is also called the "Microsoft Effect".
[edit]This is also called the "Microsoft Effect". Over time, bugs become "features". 50.221.100.74 (talk) 16:05, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
