Nationality

What is since 1918 the independent nation of Finland, and in the 19th Century was a part of Russia with a specific position (Grand Duchy), was during all of Schillmark's lifetime an integrated part of the Kingdom of Sweden, with the same status as the then western part of the kingdom.

Schillmark was thus a Swede by nationality, as were his neighbours in Helsinki and Lovisa. Besides, of course, he is an important operate of Finland's art history, why he as well may be labelled "Finnish artist". Boberger (talk) 13:09, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
