Material from other languages

[edit]

The Swedish article on Nina Stemme has some good material, i a the Discography section. What is good etiquette on using material from other languages on Wikipedia?Andersneld (talk) 08:52, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:NOENG. Please let me know if you find it confusing or unhelpful. Toccata quarta (talk) 11:07, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Repertoire

[edit]

I would like to include Nina Stemme's role debuts and locations for the role debuts, much like in for example the excellent article on Renée Fleming. Howver, the difficulty is greater that I anticipated.

Presumably the task would be easy with professional access to http://operabase.com/index.cgi?lang=en but I don't have that ... anybody able to help? Andersneld (talk) 07:42, 25 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Unofficial recordings"

[edit]

I have removed this list entirely. House of Opera, Premiere Opera, etc. have no place here as these are all "pirate" (bootleg) recordings, made surreptitiously in house or recorded off-air. They are blatant copyright violations, not to mention their poor and often erroneous documentation. Please see WikiProject Opera guidance on this subject. It can be acceptable to list broadcasts (on television or radio) in a separate section. But each item in such a list requires a reference, and not one coming from a pirate seller. It needs to come from the broadcasting company itself or a published review of the broadcast in a reliable source. – Voceditenore (talk) 13:09, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Photo of Nina Stemme

[edit]

Help! The nice photo of Nina Stemme has disappeared, apparently it was removed by the Wikimedia support team because of possible copyright infringement. Does anybody have a photo that would not risk copyright infringement? It is really a shame that an article about the greatest dramatic soprano of our time doesn't even include a photo. You might try checking on Flickr for an image released under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) license. Those can be uploaded to commons. Or if you find one that is almost there but doesn't allow commercial use, e.g. this one. You might try contacting the photographer and asking if they would by willing to remove the "no commericial use" restriction and re-license it under CC-BY-SA. Thanks for the Flickr suggestion! I have contacted the photographer of the photo you suggested. I have also contacted Nina's agent. --Klättermusen (talk) 17:19, 1 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Isolde at Covent Garden

[edit]

I think this counts as a rave review:

This reviewer is long established in this newspaper and I have never seen him write like this. Budhen (talk) 14:38, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
