No consensus to move. Vegaswikian (talk) 21:01, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Automobile CraiovaFord Romania – Actual name: Romania Market Daily - BRD Thursday, 5 March 2009, Ford - Romanian Expansion. BaboneCar (talk) 14:40, 25 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Problem - the first source above Thursday, 5 March 2009, contradicts the move request "SIF Oltenia filed a lawsuit against Ford Romania, Automobile Craiova and Romanian state to cancel share capital increase of EUR 250mn of Ford Romania( former Daewoo Automobile Romania)" Even if Automobile Craiova S.A. is now 100% owned by Ford Romania S.A. (evidence?) they are still separate companies with separate history. In ictu oculi (talk) 00:25, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Plus WP:RECENT, as an encyclopedia, not Facebook, readers are interested in the past as well - forgive me but I added a file pic of the Oltcit. In ictu oculi (talk) 00:31, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This article describes the factory in Craiova, which is now owned by Ford and, as you can read at page 8 in the second source, was renamed Ford Romania S.A.. Moving the article to the requested name does not remove the information about the past, and if there will be intentions to write more detailed articles about the history of Oltcit or Daewoo Automobile Romania, then new articles with these names could be created, rather than create now a new article named Ford Romania. Also, if there will be an intention to write a more detailed article about Automobile Craiova, who, according to their website, last time only manufactured Oltcit parts and PVC windows, then there could be created an article on this topic from the resulting redirect page. BaboneCar (talk) 01:23, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Anyway, here are some links describing the situation of AUTOMOBILE CRAIOVA S.A.. After Q1 2009, Ford Motor Company had 96,73% of the Automobile Craiova S.A. shares and in July 2009 they made a public offer to buy the remaining shares, which was approved on 14 July 2009: Automobile Craiova S.A. - Quarterly report for Q3 2009. According to RASDAQ, at 31 December 2009, Ford Motor Company had 97% of the Automobile Craiova S.A. shares: Bursa de Valori Bucuresti - AUCS. BaboneCar (talk) 02:12, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for those answers, I'm merely asking questions that would be asked be anyone invited in by an RM. What I'd suggest if that
(A) if Ford Romania S.A. is a holdco then the article cannot really be moved, even if only 3.3% of shares in the subsidiary are outstanding.
(B) if Automobile Craiova S.A. "is" no longer exists as a name then the lede first line be immediately changed to Automobile Craiova S.A. "was", or Ford Romania S.A. formerly known as Automobile Craiova S.A. "is", and the page 8 evidence of the legal name change be not just linked but the relevant sentence copy-pasted in full into the footnote. If it's a name change then beginning to look like a reasonable move, but you might want to fish around other auto-company articles for WP:CONSISTENCY. Cheers In ictu oculi (talk) 03:59, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
After all, even if the name no longer exists, maybe there should be created from scratch a new page called Ford Romania, which would focus on the post-Ford acquisition era, and the Automobile Craiova page to focus only on the Daewoo era, mentioning in the lede Rodae Automobile and Daewoo Automobile Romania as former names. This way all the three brands, Oltcit, Daewoo and Ford, would have their individual articles. BaboneCar (talk) 08:46, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Considering my previous message, please cancel the requested move. BaboneCar (talk) 20:40, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
