Famous Employees

[edit]

Does anyone have documentation on those people actually working at OPH? It isn't cited in any of their personal wikipedia articles.

Malcolm X includes it in his Autobiography. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.79.182.131 (talk) 16:04, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Omni Parker House. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Architecture

[edit]

The article is not complete. For the most historic hotel in the country, not a word about the architectural history of the Boston building. This when, for one thing, Gridley J. F. Bryant, possibly the most noted architect in Boston during the hotel's early years, per Henry Turner Bailey designed a major extension?

Delete URL

[edit]

I'd also opine: Nix the URL in the top main inset box, which takes you to the corporate owner's main page for the hotel, replete w. color-brochure photos and room prices. Even if its content weren't promotional, you have the same the link down at bottom, the appropriate place for it.

[edit]

It should be noted that in addition to the novel, The Age of Innocence, it also in the 1993 movie version. It goes unmentioned in dialog but the building and its main entrance are shown in the pre-1927 form. There is also an earlier movie adaptation of the The Age of Innocence made in the 1930s, but I am unsure if the movie contains any Parker House references. Hopefully somebody with the proper skills and edit and properly document these facts. 98.235.68.109 (talk) 02:38, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback on Parker's Restaurant Section

[edit]

Hi, Danielle2732. I really enjoyed this section and feel it was a great addition to this article. The tone and content are very neutral and unbiased, and the only edits I made were for missing words or small grammar mistakes. One thing I would suggest is adding two pictures of the restaurant (one recent and one historic) to give readers a better understanding of the structure itself. Additionally, it might be helpful to make the "Famous Employees" section a subsection of the Restaurant section more broadly. Overall, awesome job! ~~~ Musicluvrr (talk) 20:31, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

...

Hi, Danielle2732.I thought that your addition to this article was great! I did not find any grammatical issues and I think your overall structure is nice. My only suggestion is similar to what @Musicluvrr said about the section headings. I think that since your part has a lot of history, you might want to put it before the 21st Century section. You also might be able to combine the Culinary Section together with the restaurant hisotory. Great work overall!
